Manufacturers, technology companies, franchisors, and others doing business anywhere in the world have to contend with a complex landscape. I help them discover ways to minimize their global tax obligations while staying current with compliance and reporting requirements. I provide assistance with mergers and acquisitions and other major transactions, and I also serve as a resource for companies that have business operations or ownership in China and the UK.
Knowing how to look over the horizon is a big asset in today’s challenging economy, and I recognize the importance of planning when it comes to evaluating and improving the operations of a business. My clients appreciate that I’m proactive in identifying value-added opportunities. Colleagues like the fact that I’m constantly looking for new and better ways to do things, and my diverse background working with many kinds and sizes of companies helps me keep my game sharp.
I’m a member of the AICPA, the West Michigan World Trade Week Planning Committee, and the advisory board for the Paton Center at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, which is where I received a B.B.A and M.S. in accounting. I also have a M.S. in taxation from Grand Valley State University.
If I’m not in the office, look outdoors — you’ll find me running, sailing, golfing, or skiing, depending on the weather. I enjoy spending time in and around the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
